Folded thought of the day: Be a friend to someone. Don't be jealous or petty. Take those headphones off and sing in the street. Turn off your cell phone for an hour.. or completely for that matter. See an old movie in a theater if you can. Go to a bookstore and visit a section you've never been before. Eat an ice-cream cone made with real ice cream. Count your blessings. Tell your mom you love her. Keep an open mind. Don't judge. Don't be mean. Ask a workmate to see a picture of their kid. Sit on a park bench. Don't try to get away with something (cause you never do). If anybody tries to hurt you tell them to stop. Look forward but don't lose sight of the beauty right next to you. Take a chance. Look both ways before you cross the street. Read the first twenty pages of "Moby-Dick." Re-read your favorite children's book. Let pop culture go on without you for a while. Turn off the TV. Make a long distance call when the rates are highest. Don't laugh at someone else's expense. Besides that, laugh as hard as you can. Be sincere. Don't take yourself too seriously. Tip well. Get your hands dirty and skin your knees. Stay up late enough or get up early enough to experience the new day's first light. Walk to where you're going. Pet a dog. Acknowledge a stranger. Take the stairs. Listen. Cry. Show respect. Demand it from others. Whistle. Donate some clothes and food to the needy this holiday season. Knock before you enter. Crash a party. Buy blank cards and write your own messages. Quote Yeats. Protect your territory but invite people in. Don't bother looking busy. Look out the window. Do something that will make you feel proud. Do something else that will make you feel humble. Spend money on essentials. Spend time finding a truly special gift for someone you love. Have a good weekend. There, that seems like a pretty good to-do list.
