Folded Thought of the Day: ------------------------ "Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end; then stop." -- Lewis Carroll, from Alice in Wonderland As sage as Mr. Carroll's words might be, and as much as I stand in awe of his writings, I've never been that good at applying the wisdom he shares in this phrase. As many of you have noted (both in appreciation and deep frustration), I tend to start a story somewhere in the middle and then jump about 500 years before the beginning of the story and then leap to the moment when the universe comes to an end then I eventually make my way around to the beginning, all the while introducing various characters and details that may or may not have anything to do with the actual story. What can I say, I write what I think (which is not the same as I think what I write... right?). It might not always make sense but I think the ride is pretty fun. Sure, I run the daily risk of annoying the occasional Alice, but as long as she can find a shining moment or two on the other side of this looking-glass, then I figure it's worth the while. In return, I'll make the effort to write the occasional straight-forward bit. So, in the spirit of this leap-day, I'd like to extend an ongoing invitation to all of you to continue taking this daily leap of faith with me. I do my best to see to it that Below the Fold is not your average newsletter content and I hope that's what makes you scroll. That or you just want to find out when I'm finally going to crack. Anyway, I'll keep typing away and please keep sending in your stories and thoughts and whatevers -- we've got to keep the flame burning. Sure, we'll disagree on occasion and there will be times when we frustrate each other, but we'll keep journeying through this rabbit hole and meeting strange characters. And we'll have a lot of fun in the process. What do you think? ------------------------
