Folded thought (ramblings) of the day: So, how was your weekend? Did you make the most of your time? Things got a little ugly here in Manhattan. But I don't want to go into that. I've got to get this week off to a positive start. But boy, I sure encountered some unhappy people. At least they seemed unhappy. One woman sneered at me for holding a door open for her. What's up with that? Oh well, not to worry -- I won't let one incident dampen my chivalrous nature. I ran into a friend who told me I looked tired. And another who told me I looked sad. I think it's my diet. Not enough raw veggies and too many deep-fried sticks of butter. I'm just kidding. But I think I could use a little more sleep. It's just so difficult with these voices in my head. Anyway... Don't you hate it when marketers try to be too clever?... when they say things like "Check out our Halloween sale, with prices so low they're scary!" Low prices aren't scary. But some of the stories you've sent in sure are. I can't post all of them, but I would like to quote a couple. "One of the scariest things I've seen ... is a police car following a school bus to its regular stops." -- Sent in by K. McCullough And here's one from L. Johnson which I found interesting. "When I go for a walk downtown, sometimes I take a shortcut through an alleyway. Occasionally, I might see an article of clothing. It can be shoes, or a shirt, etc. I always wonder what person those clothes come from and what happened to them." This is strange because I had a very similar experience happen to me yesterday. I was walking in the city and saw an old pair of shoes. And it made me wonder about the person who once wore them. If I walked a mile in those shoes would I have an understanding of him/her? Would they take me somewhere I'd never been? Would I get more sleep? Or less? Would I be sitting here, under these horrible lights, typing these words?
